Lily’s Diary

HOW VISITING MY FAVORITE PLACES BRINGS SEXY BACK

Today I’m going to share with you several of my favorite places to chill out on a weekend. These places also happened to be the ones I went with Alan in Catching Lily. I still go to one of them on weekends.

Cute and cozy outdoor café

Small towns in New England have these pretty little cafés or bistros. I love to just sit and sip my morning coffee. And on a blue sky and sunny spring day, the restaurants open their outside cafés. I’d call my friends and we’d take a lunch break. I don’t know what it is, but there is something romantic about it. Give me any movie with an outside café scene in it and I’m gone. And if I could extend my imagination, right now I’m sitting at a summer tabac in Paris, munching croissants and watching people.

Any place in the world that offers outdoor cafés would instantly become one of my favorite places to go.

The Esplanade in Boston!
Night view of the Boston’s Back Bay skyline with brightly illuminated buildings

I’m talking about city of Boston located in the state of Massachusetts. The Esplanade along the Charles River is the place where the 4th of July is celebrated with live music and fireworks! I love this place. The water, the fantastic views, plus I always have to hunt around to find an empty bench. The bench. You need to read Catching Lily to know more about the importance of the scene at the empty bench. For reasons I can’t explain, the Esplanade brings a strong sense of serenity inside me. The light wind relaxes me after a long week. This is the place to sit and do nothing for an hour. I suspect the water has a calming effect on me as well.

The fabric stores!

Of all places, I’d rather be in this place and feel the roughness of the fabric texture, smell the chemical or wax that makes the threads stiff. I’m a fabric addict. You need to read Catching Lily to find out how I made handbags with my favorite fabrics. Having my own business makes me happy and gives me an excuse to visit my favorite fabric stores.
